Come enjoy the Mayo Arts Festival & Canada Day Celebration. A day with something for everyone, Canada Day begins with a parade and bike decorating contest at 11 am at the Yukon Government Administration building on Center Street. At noon, the event moves over to the JV Clark School Soccer field, directly behind the school and the Mayo Arts Festival & Canada Day events begin.
The Mayo Arts Festival showcases the musicians and artists of the Stewart River Valley area (Stewart Crossing, Mayo and Keno City). The musician’s will be performing a great variety of music styles throughout the afternoon and early evening on the mainstage. Take the time to browse and shop in the Artist’s Tent, or participate in one of the artist’s demonstrations and workshops!
Throughout the afternoon take part in Canada Day games such as the three-legged race, pie eating contest or put in a team in the horseshoe tournament!
The Stewart Valley Community Market will have their tent up with amazing baked goods, fresh lemonade, gourmet coffee and produce and Victoria Gold will run the concession during the afternoon. For dinner, purchase a steak dinner from the Volunteer Fire Department.
Ask any of the locals, this is one of the best days of the year in our community! Everyone is brought together to enjoy each other’s talents and the wonderful events of Canada Day really compliment the Mayo Arts Festival events. There are smiles everywhere and people making memories and meeting new friends!
This is a fun filled event and is free of charge!
