Home of the Teslin Tlingit

The scenic lakeside community of Teslin on the Alaska Highway is home to the Inland Tlingit. Teslin is approximately halfway between Watson Lake and Whitehorse and offers a full range of visitor services and several major cultural attractions, while beautiful Teslin Lake beckons for fishing and exploration.

A community with a rich cultural heritage, many accomplished Tlingit artists live in Teslin. Visit the Teslin Tlingit Heritage Centre, a striking building on the shore of Teslin Lake and be sure not to miss George Johnston Museum, where you can find Yukon's largest collection of Tlingit artifacts.

The Nisutlin Bay Bridge, Teslin's impressive seven-arch metal span, is the longest bridge on the Alaska Highway. The lake is a popular destination for fishing and boating in summer and snowmobiling and cross-country skiing in winter. Nisutlin Delta National Wildlife Area offers exceptional birding and wildlife viewing.
