GoMedia 2012 Twitter Update

GoMedia 2012 was recently hosted in Whitehorse, Yukon from May 28th to June 1st 2012.

Tourism Yukon's Digital Sub-Committee developed a plan to engage media and industry professionals through Twitter. The objective was to create buzz and to drive traffic to relevant websites for more information, not exclusively to www.travelyukon.com. The Sub-Committee included two industry volunteers- Dennis Zimmerman and Teresa Earle.

The strategy was to engage media and industry professionals by sharing timely information in order for them to write about their wonderful experiences in the Yukon.

There were a total of 13 FAM tours from local half-day tours to multi-day regional tours. Planned and scheduled key messaging was crafted to support all FAM itineraries.

The unexpected but pleasant engagement included providing tweets as the event unfolded to media and industry professionals who weren't able to make it to GoMedia 2012 event in Whitehorse, Yukon.

The results were phenomenal.
