But it's the fun-loving people who really capture your imagination
HAINES JUNCTION, YUKON-I don't think I'd ever heard a lake quite like this before. Birds? Sure. Waves? Of course.
But standing on the shores of Kathleen Lake in late May, I can hear the cracking. The sun has broken through, and chunks of ice are drifting apart in the sudden "warmth" of a 13-degree day.
