Experience Dawson City through the eyes of literary greats Jack London, Robert Service, Dick North and Pierre Berton.
Participants of the walking tour learn about the colourful and captivating pasts of these authors while visiting their historic homes with costume clad interpreters. The tour commences at the Jack London Museum and Interpretive Centre, proceeds to Parks Canada’s Robert Service Cabin and concludes on the lawn of the Berton House, which houses Writers in Residence year-round.
The Authors on Eighth tour is held in conjunction with an annual writing competition of which the winners will be announced and prizes awarded as the tour concludes. Writers interested in submitting an original poem or short story can do by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org .
The Authors on Eighth walking tour and writing competition is funded annually by the Writers Trust of Canada and organized and coordinated by the Klondike Visitors Association. Book lovers of all ages are welcome to join us for this inspiring event and admission is FREE.
