This 6‑day, guided Cottonwood Trail backpacking trip takes you on a moderate‑to‑challenging 85 km loop through alpine meadows, glacier valleys and pristine forests in Kluane National Park. Embark on a 6-day, 5-night guided backpacking adventure on the breathtaking Cottonwood Trail in Kluane National Park. This moderate to challenging hiking trip in the wild Yukon takes you deep into one of Canada’s most remote and stunning wilderness areas — a true backcountry journey filled with adventure, rugged terrain, and nights under the stars.
Your adventure begins with a relaxing night at our unique Squatch Bus base camp in Haines Junction, where we’ll provide all the necessary gear and get you fully prepared for the trail. After a thorough briefing, we’ll set off from Kathleen Lake with an ACMG-certified guide leading the way.
Over the next five days, expect to hike 12–20 km per day with significant elevation gain, carrying your own pack, through alpine meadows, glacier valleys, and pristine forests. Along the 85 km loop you’ll experience glacier views, wild rivers, and towering peaks — a once-in-a-lifetime experience for true adventurers.
