Birding along the Dempster Highway

Birding along the Dempster Highway
One of the most exciting times about spring is return of the song birds.
Early June is a great time for bird watching. The trees and bushes are just starting to sprout so it will be much easier to spot our little feathered friends.
Join us on this magical trip, documenting the Yukon coming alive again after a long winter. There will still be some snow on the mountains and some ice holding on to some lakes, while the bushes and trees are starting to sprout. This will be the ideal time to look for birds.
After a comfortable night at our lodge in the Ibex valley, will embark on our adventure. Our destination is Tombstone Territorial Campground, where we will spend 3 nights camping. During the day time we will explore the area for birds and other wildlife.
Equipped with our day bags, bird books, cameras we wander along beautiful trails in the quest to find and document birds.
There are too many possible birds we might spot to list them all. It will mostly be song birds, there are birds of pray and lots of ducks. I still have not been able to spot a red breasted loon, so that is a big one on my personal list.
