Snowshoe Adventure to a Frozen Waterfall

Snowshoe Adventure to a Frozen Waterfall
Experience the magic of a Yukon winter. Snowshoe through the Boreal forest to a stunning frozen waterfall while stopping to take photos and hear local stories along the way. Once we reach our destination, we warm up by a cozy campfire and enjoy snacks and hot drinks. Our winter wonderland experience is perfect for families and groups looking for a unique winter adventure.
This full day tour includes
- 2 hours of driving
- 2 hours of snowshoeing
- 2 hours of campfire time and exploring at the waterfall site
Meet us at Mt Sima in the rental shop, where you will meet your friendly guide and select your snowshoes for the day.
Once we are packed and ready, we will drive you in our vehicle to the trail head, which is approximately one hour outside of Whitehorse. We will be travelling along the famed Alaska Highway.
Once at the trail head, we put on our snowshoes and trek through the beautiful Boreal forest, stopping to take photos and learning about local plants and animals along the way.
The hike is moderate difficulty, with some elevation gain near the end. There are plenty of opportunities for rests and refreshments, including our special Equinox winter tea that will both warm and energize you.
The trail brings us to a beautiful frozen waterfall. Take photos and explore the caves and crevices that are created when the ice forms.
At the waterfall site, we will gather around a cozy campfire and enjoy snacks and hot drinks. And of course, more stories.
Note: we also offer an Ice Climbing tour in the same location. You may be lucky enough to be at the site while other adventurers are climbing the frozen waterfall!
We return the way we came, with new memories.
