Experience the northern lights from the warmth and comfort of the Aurora Lounge, a purpose built wilderness retreat located just 20 minutes south of Whitehorse.

Settle into a comfortable sofa beside the stone fireplace, or watch the sky through large, north facing windows with a complimentary hot chocolate, coffee or tea. A licensed bar offers Yukon beer, BC wine and Baileys for purchase.

Outside, an all night campfire provides a welcoming place to sit beneath the stars, enjoy a drink and roast marshmallows for complimentary s’mores. Guests are welcome to move between the fireside lounge and the outdoor viewing area throughout the evening. Complimentary Wi-Fi makes it easy to share the experience with friends and family as it happens, while a heated washroom adds an extra level of comfort.

With a maximum of 30 guests, the Aurora Lounge offers plenty of room to enjoy the surroundings and photograph the night sky. Tripods are available to use at no charge, and experienced guides can help with camera settings and aurora photography. Guides also take professional photographs of guests whenever conditions allow, with the images available to download after the experience at no additional cost either.

Your evening includes pickup from accommodations in downtown Whitehorse between 9:45 and 10:00 p.m., followed by a short drive into the darkness beyond the city. You will be returned to your hotel around 2am.

The Aurora Lounge operates from September 1 to March 31 and welcomes guests aged 16 and older.
