The Yukon Arts Centre Public Art Gallery is open year round and hosts ten to fourteen exhibitions a year. The centre also has a 428 seat theatre where live performances are held year round.
The Yukon Arts Centre’s art galleries play a vital role in fostering creativity, cultural exchange, and artistic excellence in the North. The main gallery is known for its commitment to presenting high-quality visual art exhibitions that reflect the dynamic nature of contemporary art. With a mandate to showcase diverse perspectives, the gallery curates thought-provoking exhibitions that span local, regional, national, and international artists. Particular emphasis is placed on northern and Indigenous voices, highlighting the unique stories, histories, and innovations that shape life in the North.
Alongside the main gallery, the ATCO Electric Yukon Youth Gallery and Yukon Energy Community Gallery offer vital platforms for emerging artists and community members. These spaces encourage participation, experimentation, and expression, providing opportunities for young people and local creators to exhibit their work in a professional setting. By supporting these early career and community-based artists, the Yukon Arts Centre nurtures the next generation of cultural contributors.
Through exhibitions, public programs, and educational outreach, the Yukon Arts Centre’s galleries deepen appreciation for the arts, elevate underrepresented voices, and contribute to the vibrant, evolving identity of the North.
We are also happy to offer various types of gallery tours, artist talks and monthly art workshops for children, ages 4-11 from October to April.
