Traveller Quiz

The Yukon Traveller Quiz

You know what you like. We know the Yukon. Let’s work together.

It's not a crystal ball, but this quiz will give you the answers you're looking for. Get personalized information that'll make your trip extra magical.

Which activity sounds like the perfect start to your trip in the Yukon?

What is your sleep style when traveling?

Do you have the appropriate gear for a Yukon adventure?

Do you prefer being out in nature or exploring a city/town?

Who are your favourite people to travel with?

You seem to be…

Relaxed Traveller

You enjoy venturing out in nature, but your dream trip to the Yukon doesn’t stray too far from at least a few modern comforts. Your preference is to have the option to unwind and treat yourself rather than tackling gruelling hikes, but that doesn’t mean you want to miss out on iconic Yukon activities like the northern lights or midnight sun. Arts & culture are a focus and you seek out guided tours so you can learn about the territory’s land and heritage.

Curious Explorer

Your dream trip to the Yukon combines exploration of the unknown with down-to-earth comforts. Seeing the iconic landscape by any means possible is how you like to travel; car, hiking, dog sledding, horseback riding, mountain biking, you’ll do it all. Plus, you’re not shy to ask locals for recommendations. And when it comes to resting your weary feet, the unique lodgings on offer pique your interest.

Extreme Adventurer

You’re all about going off the beaten track and answering the call of the wild with a howl of your own. As a lover of the outdoors, you’ve planned your adventures ahead of time but are always looking to uncover the lesser known and one-of-a-kind activities that can be found by speaking to the locals. Breaking a sweat is how you roll, ride, ski or sled and at the end of a high octane day, you’re happy with a simple tent-pad in the heart of nature.

Your Dempster Highway motorcycle adventure starts before the pavement ends.
Heading north on two wheels? Make Yukon Moto Gear & Apparel your Dempster Highway Pit Stop in Whitehorse. Whether you're riding to the Arctic Circle, Inuvik, Tuktoyaktuk, or simply taking on part of this legendary northern route, stop in and gear up for the journey ahead.

Located in downtown Whitehorse, Yukon Moto Gear & Apparel (YMGA) is the last motorcycle gear and apparel store before the Dempster Highway and a practical stop for riders preparing to head north.

Our dedicated Dempster Prep Corner brings together motorcycle essentials selected with northern and remote travel in mind. Riders can find items such as tire repair kits, oil and filters, chain-care products, rain gear, overgloves, gaiters, Shock Sox, and other useful riding and maintenance essentials.

Need tires for your trip? Pre-order your motorcycle tires with YMGA before arriving in Whitehorse, and we'll have them ready for your arrival. We can also help connect travelling riders with a local mobile motorcycle service provider to arrange tire installation and oil changes.

You'll also find motorcycle helmets, protective riding gear, gloves, boots, luggage, communication systems, accessories, and other products that may come in handy before heading into the North.

The Dempster is an unforgettable ride, but changing weather, long distances, gravel, limited services, and remote conditions make preparation important. Our goal isn't to tell you how to ride your adventure—it's to help make sure you're geared up before you go.

Stop in, meet fellow riders, check your gear, pick up those last-minute essentials, and get ready for the road north.
