YuSquatch Mountain Adventures has introduced a distinctive winter product that delivers three signature Yukon experiences in a single evening. The Yukon Night Adventure includes ice climbing, wilderness dining, and northern lights viewing and will appeal to adventure travellers seeking an authentic northern experience.
The tour operates from 7pm to 4am, and is all inclusive with hotel pickup and drop-off throughout downtown Whitehorse, all technical equipment, certified guiding, and a fondue meal.
The adventure begins with ice climbing at the Ice Tower, where certified guides provide instruction and equipment for participants of all experience levels. The guided climb offers guests an accessible and safe introduction to this popular winter sport.
After the climb, guests gather in a warm canvas tent for a wild meat fondue featuring Yukon bison and elk. Heated by a wood stove, the tent provides a cozy setting for this hearty meal. Following the meal, guests will hop aboard a toboggan, towed by snowmobile, and head 5 kilometres into the backcountry to a remote aurora viewing location. A heated tent with a wood stove serves as the base camp for northern lights viewing, with hot beverages provided.
An extended viewing window maximises aurora sighting opportunities during peak winter months.
Limited to eight participants per departure, the small group format enables personalised attention from guides and maintains an intimate atmosphere. Guides incorporate wilderness survival skills, local history, and cultural storytelling throughout the evening, adding educational value to the adventure components.
Guests must be 18 years or older to participate, unless accompanied by a legal guardian. Winter clothing - including windproof jacket, snow pants, thermal layers, and insulated boots - is necessary but not provided.
