Traveller Quiz

The Yukon Traveller Quiz

You know what you like. We know the Yukon. Let’s work together.

It's not a crystal ball, but this quiz will give you the answers you're looking for. Get personalized information that'll make your trip extra magical.

Which activity sounds like the perfect start to your trip in the Yukon?

What is your sleep style when traveling?

Do you have the appropriate gear for a Yukon adventure?

Do you prefer being out in nature or exploring a city/town?

Who are your favourite people to travel with?

You seem to be…

Relaxed Traveller

You enjoy venturing out in nature, but your dream trip to the Yukon doesn’t stray too far from at least a few modern comforts. Your preference is to have the option to unwind and treat yourself rather than tackling gruelling hikes, but that doesn’t mean you want to miss out on iconic Yukon activities like the northern lights or midnight sun. Arts & culture are a focus and you seek out guided tours so you can learn about the territory’s land and heritage.

Curious Explorer

Your dream trip to the Yukon combines exploration of the unknown with down-to-earth comforts. Seeing the iconic landscape by any means possible is how you like to travel; car, hiking, dog sledding, horseback riding, mountain biking, you’ll do it all. Plus, you’re not shy to ask locals for recommendations. And when it comes to resting your weary feet, the unique lodgings on offer pique your interest.

Extreme Adventurer

You’re all about going off the beaten track and answering the call of the wild with a howl of your own. As a lover of the outdoors, you’ve planned your adventures ahead of time but are always looking to uncover the lesser known and one-of-a-kind activities that can be found by speaking to the locals. Breaking a sweat is how you roll, ride, ski or sled and at the end of a high octane day, you’re happy with a simple tent-pad in the heart of nature.

Vanessa Aegirsdottir Co. is a Yukon-based, Indigenous-owned design house and creative studio founded by designer and professional artist Vanessa Aegirsdottir and her husband and co-founder, Tlingit trapper and land based educator George Bahm.

Together, Vanessa and George bring contemporary design into conversation with the landscapes, materials and ways of life that make the North distinct. Vanessa leads the company’s creative and design practice, while George brings generations of connection to the land and firsthand knowledge of northern wildlife, trapping and wild fur.

Their work has grown from a small Yukon studio into an award-winning design house recognized well beyond the North, while remaining firmly rooted in the place where it began.

Discover contemporary design and art shaped by the Yukon.

Vanessa Aegirsdottir Co. is best known for distinctive jewelry made with wild Yukon fur sourced from George and other Indigenous trappers across the territory. Each piece celebrates the extraordinary natural variation of northern species including lynx, wolverine, wolf, fox, beaver, marten, muskrat, squirrel and ermine, transforming a material deeply connected to life in the North into contemporary, wearable design.

The studio’s broader collections include original artwork and fine-art prints, textiles and other small-batch objects, alongside Vanessa’s growing practice with handmade earth- and mineral-pigment watercolours inspired by northern landscape and place.

Although our Whitehorse storefront has closed, visitors can still encounter Vanessa Aegirsdottir Co. through our online shop, select Yukon retailers, seasonal markets, and occasional artist-led events and experiences.

Watch for Winter Is the Palette, a seasonal creative experience inviting visitors to slow down, observe the unexpected colours of a Yukon winter, and explore them through painting with Vanessa’s handmade watercolours.
