Coast Mountain Sports

The largest outdoor store in the territory, if you’re looking to buy, Coast has a huge selection of shoes, clothing, camping equipment and more. Coast also offers cross-country ski rentals. Located on Main Street in downtown Whitehorse.

Changing Gear

If you want to buy, but save a few bucks, this Whitehorse store has plenty of used gear for less. Located on the Alaska Highway, they carry sports and outdoor gear for everything from camping and kayaking to skiing and snowshoeing. Changing Gear also rents equipment including tents, pulks, poles, bear canisters and more.

Up North Adventures

Up North is a year-round gear supply rental located on Strickland Street in downtown Whitehorse. They’ve got everything you need to head out on the land and have your own adventure, or they can rent you the land! The store has three yurts available for rent on Fish Lake, just a few minutes out of town, up the Alaska Highway. They also offer shuttles to and from Yukon communities and popular put-ins.

Kanoe People

If your plans involve getting out on the water, you’ll probably end up at Kanoe People. Located right on the Yukon River in downtown Whitehorse, they offer guided trips as well as canoe, kayak and stand-up paddleboard rentals. If you have a big group, ask about the 10-person Voyageur canoe. They also offer winter adventures at Fox Bay Retreat on Lake Laberge, about 30 minutes from Whitehorse.

The Base Outdoor Rentals

Whether you forgot a tent or a spork, The Base has a rental package to meet your needs. Located on Main Street, they carry summer supplies, including sleeping pads and camp stoves, as well as winter clothing packages including insulated boots, down coats, pants, hats and toques. 

06 Gear Rental

Yukon Wide Adventures Inc.

In addition to cabin, camper and RV rentals, Yukon Wide rents canoes, kayaks, ATVs, quads, snowmobiles, trailers and camping equipment. If you’re coming for the Yukon River Quest in the summer, they’ve got plenty of racing-grade rentals – some of their boats have even carried past participants to a first-place finish.

Overland Yukon

If you don’t want to deal with hammering stakes into the Yukon’s notoriously dry and rocky ground, Overland Yukon has the solution. The Whitehorse company rents overland jeeps with rooftop tents, as well as fully converted custom camper vans. Rentals include coolers, outdoor folding tables, hammocks, pots, lanterns and plug-ins for your devices.

Stand Up Paddle Yukon

SUP Yukon offers guided multi-day trips along the Yukon River, as well as equipment rentals. Located in Whitehorse.

Cadence Cycle, located in Whitehorse, has a bike built for every adventure and a rental package to match. You can rent by the hour or the week. And best of all, you can have your choice of mountain bikes, fat bikes, hybrids and electric bikes.

Icycle Sports has a large selection of full-suspension mountain bikes, hardtails, kids bikes, lightweight road bikes and electric-assisted mountain bikes. While their main store is located in Whitehorse, they also operate a Carcross location during the summer months, in case your plans include exploring the trails on Montana Mountain.
