This exclusive small-group Yukon photography tour and hands-on workshop is dedicated to photographing the Aurora Borealis in some of the most spectacular landscapes of Canada’s North. Led by professional photographer Beat Glanzmann, the journey takes photographers away from the usual tourist locations and into the vast Yukon wilderness, where dark skies, dramatic winter scenery and carefully selected photography spots create exceptional conditions for Northern Lights photography.
The tour is built around photography and the natural conditions of the North. Locations and outings are adapted to weather, light and Aurora forecasts, providing the flexibility needed for serious night photography. Participants photograph the Northern Lights surrounded by frozen rivers, snow-covered mountains and remote winter landscapes, while daytime sessions offer further opportunities for landscape and nature photography.
Hands-on instruction in the field covers Aurora photography, night photography, camera settings, composition, time-lapse techniques and post-processing. Small group sizes allow for individual guidance and the freedom to spend time at a location when the conditions are right.
The extended version of the tour adds the spectacular Kluane region, with its vast mountain scenery, frozen lakes and extraordinary winter landscapes. Both tour options combine professional photography instruction, exceptional Yukon nature and the unforgettable experience of photographing the Aurora Borealis far from the usual tourist routes.
