Karen is a member of the First Nation of Na-Cho Nyäk Dun. She has been embroidering and sewing traditional clothing since she was 12 years old, having learned from her mother, Martha Buyck. The art of embroidery is a lost art amongst First Nations, and she is trying to bring it back. She creates original pieces according to customer orders.
